Labor Day and Simcha Shabbat
Kabbalat Shabbat
Our Friday night service begins at 6:00 p.m. and concludes around 6:50 p.m. Our service is designed to create a buffer between the work week and Shabbat rest. We aim to make the atmosphere like a family shabbat table complete with Candle Lighting, Blessing one another, Kiddush, Motzei and Angel Cards. Before and after the service we take time to check in with one another and share greetings (feel free to log on early). Our service has been abridged for ZOOM but includes familiar and new melodies, readings from the margins of the siddur, and some learning.
Reb Josh Schreiber will lead the davening and I will offer a teaching about forgiveness. As we prepare for Rosh Hashanah how can we prepare to apologize and receive apologies? What are some of the techniques for supporting our desire for change in the New Year?
Our service begins at 10 a.m. in our sanctuary (and sitting in our new, comfortable, chairs). Reb Josh Schreiber will lead the davening and offer a teaching on the 4th haftorah of consolation, connecting the reading to our season. Services conclude around noon and are following by kiddush luncheon. You can also join us on live stream using the links below.
On this first shabbat of the month we celebrate simcha shabbat, acknowledging special moments in people’s lives during the month of September.
CONGREGATIONAL TRIP TO SPAIN An updated itinerary is available for our congregational trip to explore the Jewish history and culture of Spain. More information on the trip may be found on our website, here.

Adult Ed Course with Reb Nikki Thursday, May 1st 8:00p to 9:00p What are we talking about when we talk about "Israel"?
The name "Israel" in Jewish texts can have many meanings: the person, the nation, the land, and the modern state. In this six-session class, we will be examining different uses of the name "Israel" by looking at sources ranging from the Torah to modern thinkers. Together, we will gain deeper understanding into its meaning by looking at the connections between and teasing apart the differences among the range of meanings of the word, and be able to discern what we are talking about when we talk about Israel.
